Enjoy an evening of nostalgia, stories and rare film footage with a collection of historic Shrovetide leathers on display.

Rev’d Tim Baker is an official ball painter to the Ashbourne Shrovetide Committee.  Tim has become a well known local figure since taking up on this role for the Ashbourne Wednesday ball in 1991 at the tender age of 16.  Tim is a walking encyclopaedia of all things Shrovetide having painted for a Prince and seen years of his artwork celebrated briefly before being virtually obliterated in the hug.  He will give his own thoughts on the story of Ashbourne annual two days of fame, including his often controversial views on the games themselves.
